CONFERENCE ON INVESTMENT PROMOTION, TRADE AND TOURISM DEVELOPMENT WITH INDIAN PARTNERS

In the afternoon of June 25th 2024, at Binh Dinh Provincial Convention Center, Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Indian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City to organize The Conference on Investment Promotion, Trade and Tourism Development with Indian partners. Vietnam Central attendants were included Mr. Do Thanh Trung – Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Ministry; Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi – Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City. Leaders attendants from Binh Dinh province were Mr. Ho Quoc Dung – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee; Leaders in Binh Dinh Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Committee of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Council, Leaders of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, Binh Dinh Provincial departments and Binh Dinh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA), Standing Committee of the People's Council, Leaders of the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee and representatives of associations and associations of Indian and Binh Dinh businesses.

With the opening speech at the Conference, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Council determined the vision and future development orientation of Binh Dinh Province would be a Science and Technology Center of technology, innovation, creativity, an important application place of artificial intelligence in Vietnam. Sustainable economic development would be based on the following pillars: Processing and manufacturing industry; Information technology and AI industry; Tourism of high quality; Organic Agriculture and Effective Logistics System. These above fields were all in Indian strengths. Mr. Ho Quoc Dung also said that the interference influences between Indian and Vietnamese cultures were clearly shown. That was the key to attracting the Indian business community, people and tourists to search, travel, explore and seek investment opportunities in Binh Dinh Province, the key to opening a new phase of better development which contributed to promoting and further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India in general, and the cooperative relationship between Binh Dinh Province and Indian businesses and partners in particular.

Also with the speech at the Conference, Mr. Do Thanh Trung – Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Ministry said that in recent times, Binh Dinh Province had created many positive changes in improving the investment environment, being proactive and creative in developing socio-economic development in general and attracting foreign investment in particular. Especially, the Provincial authority was always ready to accompany, to support and to solve difficulties, helping investors research and implement effective business activities. The determination and practical actions from Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee and Government along with the support from local people were an important foundation to help Binh Dinh become an attractive location for foreign investors. However, the investment cooperation relationship between India and Vietnam in general and with Binh Dinh Province in particular recently were still low and not commensurate with the potential and advantages of the two parties. Therefore, the Ministry of Planning and Investment together with other ministries and central branches was ready to accompany and to support Binh Dinh Province in turning the provincial ideas and determination for development into reality, and then, committed to creating all favorable conditions in coordinating and resolving difficulties and obstacles in the process of searching and implementing investment activities, so that Indian businesses could invest successfully, sustainably, and long-term in Binh Dinh Province, aiming for the provincial sustainable development and the stability and prosperity of the two countries.

In the speech at The Conference, Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that this important event marked a new step of cooperation between the two localities and contributed to promoting trade and investment relations between India and Vietnam. The two sides had great potential to develop large and small manufacturing industries of many fields. The Indian Consulate was ready to support and connect Vietnamese businesses with top Indian corporations in the fields of smart agriculture, aquaculture, infrastructure, information technology, healthcare, education and many other fields.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee also informed more about the companionship and respect for each investor of Binh Dinh provincial government. With the potential advantages of Binh Dinh and the cultural similarities of the two nations, this important condition hopefully promoted cooperation between businesses of the both sides. Mr. Chairman also said that most of Indian businesses were multinational companies of large corporations, with huge economic potential operating in fields that Binh Dinh was in need, such as information technology, software and application production, pharmaceuticals, AI, biotechnology, nanotechnology, telecommunications, shipbuilding and aviation, trade, services and tourism… The leaders of Binh Dinh Province committed that when investing in Binh Dinh, businesses and investors would be created with the most favorable conditions for successful project implementation and sustainable development.

Particularly at The Conference, businesses from both sides also got to know more deeply about the investment and business environment of the two sides, and exchanged issues of interest and strengths such as wood and forest product producing, processing and exporting, agriculture, especially cashew exports, rice exports, the fields of trade, investment in education and healthcare. Some multi-industry corporations had raised the issue of cooperation in seafood exports, tourism cooperation and garment cooperation. Especially, as an advanced country in the field of information technology, Indian businesses expressed their desire to cooperate with Binh Dinh businesses in the fields of IT.

Especially in The Conference of this time, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee and Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi – Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee and Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Moreover, also at the Conference, 05 other cooperation agreements had been signed, including a cooperation agreement to implement a structured training program to improve robot manufacturing skills between Quy Nhon University and the Indian Robotic Association (IR); A cooperation agreement in the field of robotics between Tuong Minh Binh Dinh Software Solutions Co., Ltd. (TMA) and the IR; A cooperation agreement in the field of trade and business between Binh Dinh Timber and Forest Products Association and Orissa India Small Scale Industries Association; And a cooperation agreement in the fields of health care and pharmaceuticals, academia and multi-disciplinary education between the Binh Dinh Young Business Association and Indian Economic and Trade Organization.

In the next day (on June 26th 2024), Indian Delegates from The Conference had taken a tour of visiting and working with some big and famous projects in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone (NEZ), including Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial - Urban and Service Area and Ky Co Tourism Area.
