ROLE OF NEZ IN BINH DINH TOURISM DEVELOPMENT 2024 TARGET

Total tourism revenue in 2023 reached VNĐ 16,405 billion – 25% more than 2022 (total tourism revenue in 2022 reached VNĐ 13,119 billion) with accommodation revenue of VNĐ 4,733.2 billion – 30% of total revenue; Food and beverage revenue reached VNĐ 5,249.6 billion – 32% of total revenue; Sightseeing and entertainment revenue reached VNĐ 2,649.05 billion – 15%; Travel and transportation revenue reached VNĐ 1,640.5 billion – 10% of total revenue; and other service revenue reached VNĐ 2,132.65 billion – 13% of total revenue.

We received the above achievements because of the close attention, leadership and direction of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of provincial departments and localities. For Nhon Hoi Economic Zone (NEZ), there were currently 24 tourism - service projects with a total registered investment capital of VNĐ 64,707 billion – 43% of the total registered investment capital of the whole NEZ and 37% of the total investment capital of NEZ and Binh Dinh Provincial IPs together. Within 24 above projects, 11 projects had been put into operation, 10 projects were being implemented and 03 projects were in the site clearance stage. There were many reasons for projects in the NEZ to operate effectively, however the direction, administration and execution of the Binh Dinh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) together with the strong determination of investors in implementing tourism and service projects in NEZ were the key points contributing to the overall success of Binh Dinh Provincial Tourism.

Right at the beginning of 2023, the BEZA issued Plan N0 08/KH-BQL dated March 02nd 2023 on checking the progress of investment projects in NEZ and Binh Dinh Ips, including tourism and service projects. Out-carrying the above Plan, BEZA had urged and reminded the investors to speed up the investing and constructing progress to complete tourism and service projects, and also, guided investors to complete legal procedures and encouraged them to overcome difficulties to complete the project. With difficulties and problems beyond its own authority, the BEZA had reported and asked for direction from the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee to support and guide businesses in implementation with the goal of speeding up progress in time with the purpose to complete and put into operation and exploitation of all tourism and service projects in NEZ.

Having just overcome the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic, extremely big challenges and difficulties had been clearly appeared in 2023 with deep recession of the domestic real estate market when series of large investors abandoned the market. In that general trend, in the first half of 2023, tourism and service projects in NEZ encountered many difficulties in implementing their construction investment. However, with the close attention from the leaders of BEZA together with the determination of investors, a number of tourism and service projects had been quickly formed and put into operation. Specifically the following projects: Trung Luong Tourism Area, Ky Co - Nhon Ly Tourism Area, FLC Hotel - Golf Complex... with millions of visitors and tourists each year contributing to tourism revenue for our Province.

In 2024, there would be a number of large-scale tourism and service projects to expectedly complete in construction investment and go into operation or partial operation, including: Entire Maia Quy Nhon Beach Resort Project on an area of 34.2 hectares in Cat Tien Town with an investment capital of USD 65 million; Thien Hung project with Ohana Hotel Complex where had come into partial operation on an area of 66,865 hectares in Cat Tien Town with a total registered investment capital of VNĐ 495 billion; Allia Resort on an area of about 48.5 hectares with an investment capital of VNĐ 790 billion on the eastern slope of Phuong Mai mountain in Nhon Ly commune of which Bai Rang Camping Area had been put into operation... The Complex of Tourism, History, Ecology and Spirituality in Linh Phong Pagoda area had been being completed some related contents and perfecting managing steps to welcome a large number of tourists with religious demands. Together with the above projects, BEZA had continued to urge other tourism and service projects to gradually complete and put into operation in the periods after 2024.

Beside potential tourism and service projects, in NEZ, Binh Dinh Province would expectedly organize a number of large, international events to attract tourists to NEZ in particular and to Binh Dinh Province in general. Specifically, it was expected that in March 2024, on Thi Nai Lagoon in NEZ, the tourism activities would be deployed within the framework of the Formula 1 powerboat race F1H2O Grand Prix and Aquabike Grand Prix 2024; International Teqball Tournament 2024; Welcoming Korean Tourists to NEZ from direct flights Incheon to Quy Nhon; Organizing economic development cooperation conferences between Hanoi City, Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Key Economic Region in 2024...

According to the Plan, in 2024, Binh Dinh Tourism aimed to welcome 5.5 million tourists (10% more than 2023) with tourism revenue reaching about VNĐ 18,000 billion (9.7% more than 2023). In the current economic status, the above indicators were relatively high in comparison with 2023. However, with a number of potential tourism and service projects and major events scheduled to be held in 2024 as described above, NEZ and Binh Dinh Province were expected to contribute largely to the Binh Dinh Tourism in completing its targets in 2024, contributing to the successful implementation of the Provincial Party Committee's Action Program on Tourism Development as a key economic sector in the period 2020 – 2025.
