CONFERENCE ON INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR GERMAN BUSINESSES IN BINH DINH PROVINCE

With The Conference opening speech, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council affirmed that 47 years have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations of the two nations. Overcoming many difficulties and challenges, Vietnam and The Federal Republic of Germany have become very important partners of each other. Especially, the official visit to Vietnam by German Prime Minister, Mr. Olaf Scholz, and German high-ranking delegation from November 13th to November 14th 2022 have opened a bright new period in the good friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Together with the good development and the relationship between the two nations, over many years, Binh Dinh province highly evaluates and takes strong and specific steps to promote cooperation between The Province and German authorities at all levels including organizations, individuals, businesses and partners of The Federal Republic of Germany. Currently, in Binh Dinh Province, there are 04 German projects being implemented by German enterprises with a total registered capital of over USD 55 million. Especially, German Project on Hi-Tech Hot Stamping Foils in Vietnam of Kurz Group with total registered capital of USD 40 million USD has been being set up at Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park; and an offshore wind power project has been suggested by German PNE AG Group with total investment capital of USD 4.6 billion. Hoping and believing that the above projects will create a rapid push for the Binh Dinh Provincial industry, one of the five growth pillars of Binh Dinh to develop further in the coming time. Mr. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that, this Conference on Investment Opportunities for German Businesses in Binh Dinh Province was an opportunity for Binh Dinh to look back on the journey, on the cooperation, on relationship between our province and German businesses over the past time. Also, it was an opportunity for Binh Dinh to continuously introduce the provincial image, potential, advantages and developing orientation in order for the two sides to further and stronger promote cooperation in the future.
After the above opening speech of Mr. Ho Quoc Dung – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, from Hanoi Bridge, Mr. Simon Kreye – Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam presented the speech. Then, Mr. Marko Walde – Representative Delegate Chief of AHK Vietnam as well as representatives of the German Business Association in Vietnam had live speeches as well. All speeches were about to please to see that the friendly cooperation between the two countries growing faster, stronger and more comprehensive in many fields from Central Authority to local ones. Particularly after more than 10 years of strategic partnership, the outstanding achievements in trade cooperation from the two sides have increasingly consolidated political trust between the two nations. Those important elements and solid foundations contribute to further building and promoting the cooperation relationship between the two sides in the near future.

At the Conference, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee introduced the socio-economic overview, the potentials, strengths and future development strategies of Binh Dinh province. He also showed that here in Binh Dinh Province, all economic sectors are always treated equally. All businesses and investors are provided with favorable conditions in accessing information on mechanisms, policies, planning, investment and business opportunities. Binh Dinh Province hopes that German agencies and associations and AHK Vietnam will continue to support The Province in promoting the Provincial images, potentials and strength to German friends, colleagues and investors, also in continuing to support Binh Dinh in organizing investment promotion activities in order to attract more potential investors to invest in Binh Dinh Province.
About one hour of The Conference were spent for exchanging and sharing the enthusiastic and responsible opinions of the guests and ideas from The Representative Delegate Chief of AHK Vietnam, experts, businesses, investors of Germany and Vietnam. Leaders of Binh Dinh Province were also ready to clearly answer each specific request and question about the investment and business environment in order to help German businesses see a comprehensive view of Binh Dinh, a province in the Central Coast of Vietnam who always has aspirations to develop. The general message of Binh Dinh is that The Province has prepared the most favorable conditions to attract businesses from Germany to invest and exploit the potential and advantages from the two sides.
The very meaningful results of The Conference on Investment Opportunities for German Businesses in Binh Dinh Province was the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee and AHK Vietnam and Memorandum of Understanding between Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee and German PNE AG Group on Offshore Wind Power Project in Binh Dinh Province which covers on a studying area of 961 km2 offshore between Phu My District and Phu Cat District, with expected output electric capacity of 2,000 MW and total investment capital of USD 4.6 billion. The two memorandums of cooperation signed above were a very meaningful initial result of The Conference on Investment Opportunities for German Businesses in Binh Dinh Province.

Together with the chain of Events on The Conference on Investment Opportunities for German Businesses in Binh Dinh Province, The Delegation Guests from The Federal Republic of Germany paid a short visit to Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park and Nhon Hoi Industrial Park (Park A) in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone a day before The Conference.
