FORUM "ROLE OF THE PRESS - COMMUNICATION IN PROMOTION TO ATTRACT INVESTMENT TO BINH DINH"

With starting speech at the Forum, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Deputy Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee emphasized that, together with the whole nation, Binh Dinh Province was accelerating industrialization and modernization, and was located in the group of provinces and cities with high economic growth, gradually rising to become the growth center of Central Vietnam Key Economic Region. Efforts to improve the investment and business environment in the Province in recent years had made Binh Dinh one of the attractive destinations for both domestic and foreign investors, positively contributing to the provincial socio-economic development results.

Along with the efforts of Binh Dinh Province over the past time, the press and communication agencies had always accompanied and well performed the function of information, propaganda, reflection, in-depth analysis, timely reporting on outstanding issues, potentials and strengths in provincial socio-economic development, thereby helping our province convey to domestic and foreign businesses and investors many advantages in the development of tourism, industry and service activities for the whole province's enthusiasm and goodwill for enthusiastic investors. Mr. Deputy Chairman also affirmed that Binh Dinh Province had been focusing on building the best environment for the press and communication to develop, manage and maintain information on the press – communication means, social networks and basic information system in accordance with regulations, actively coordinating with press - communication agencies to strengthen media cooperation and to develop the provincial potential and strengths.

Mr. Deputy Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee also hoped that in the coming time, leaders of press agencies, reporters and editors would continue to accompany The Provincial Party Committee, Government and People of Binh Dinh Province, especially, pay more attention to broadcasting about Binh Dinh's achievements as well as its development orientation, well perform the role of the press - communication in advertising and promoting investment to Binh Dinh Province in order to develop step by step and to set up a sustainable way in coming time.

Implementing the 20th Provincial Party Committee Resolution, Binh Dinh Province focused on prioritizing investment attraction in 05 key sectors: industrial development, tourism development, port and logistics service development, hi-tech agro-forestry-fishery development, and city economic development associated with the urbanization process. The Province had been investing, upgrading and completing socio-economic infrastructure to be ready to welcome investors, especially infrastructure of Nhon Hoi Economic Zones and Provincial IPs with total area of 14,308 ha; and infrastructure of industrial clusters with a total area of 2,960 ha. However, investment promotion and implementation of investment activities had not reached the desired effect, many large projects had not been carried out as expected. In the coming time, Binh Dinh Province would continue to improve its image and investment environment, creating a positive change in building a friendly, safe and effective image for investors when coming to invest and searching for investment opportunities in the Province. Besides, Binh Dinh would constantly innovate and improve the quality and efficiency of investment promotion, supporting and developing businesses, diversifying investment promotion forms. To fulfill all the above purposes, Binh Dinh Province urgently needed the companionship of the press and communication agencies in conveying the province's message to all investors and businesses: All are facilitated in accessing information on mechanisms, policies, planning, investment and business opportunities when coming to Binh Dinh Province.

At the Forum, many discussions highlighted the potential, strengths and investment opportunities in a number of areas Binh Dinh Province prioritizes in attracting and calling for investment; and the role of the press and communication in investment promotion and image promotion of Binh Dinh Province. In addition, leaders of press agencies, speakers, and reputable researchers in Vietnam also participated in the discussion through a round table exchange to find and suggest effective solutions to promote and improve the role of the press - communication in promoting investment attraction to Binh Dinh Province in coming time.
